On Sunday, we experienced ice cream four ways, reptile encounters, VR games and to-die-for décor. It was over the top, people! Don’t miss the next EXPO, set for October 6, 2019 at the newly renovated Crowne Plaza Ravinia, but in the meantime, here’s what attendees were raving about this time around.
1. First Prizes
Gift cards, hotel stays, vendor services… so many prizes, so many happy families. At check in, attendees found out immediately if they’d won a door prize. It was a great way to kick off the afternoon!
2. Valuable Venues
Families discovered venues they didn’t know hosted simchas or were located so. close. to. them. More than two dozen venues joined us at EXPO, including non-traditional spots for gamers and adventurer-seekers. Whether you want a ballroom dance party (the renovation at the Alpharetta Marriott looks amazing!), an action-packed experience at spots like Adventure Air Games or Nitro Zone recreation parks, or an attraction-based celebration (yes, you can party at Zoo Atlanta with reptiles) we had you covered!
3. Non-Stop Noshing.
The eats were outta control! Some buzzy bites: Andretti showcased its Cloud 9 Dessert Station with cotton-candy spun waffle cone sundaes. Epic Events served colorful antipasto and beef bulgogi skewers, plus killer cakes. Where’s the Scoop? rolled Thai-style ice cream and served fruity bubble tea. In real time, 103 West made sprinkle ice cream pops on an ice block. And LiquidXcream’s nitrogen ice cream brought both the wow and yum factors.
4. Endless Entertainment.
Teens loved the mirror photo booth by Memory Maker GA and the green screen of Button it Up where pics can go on anything from cell phone cases to candy boxes! For unique celebration options, families checked out VR game experiences with The Gridz, competed in popular video games at the Battle & Brew consoles and tried tricks with Doc Dixon the Magician.
5. Dream DJs.
Music was everywhere! Atlanta Fever brought live musicians to accompany tracks for a high impact experience. Espeute Productions kept energy UP in the DJ tower overlooking the ballroom. Amp’d Entertainment’s DJs spun remixes in their booth. And DJ Neezy showed off fresh lighting packages.
6. CVB Convenience.
Area convention and visitor bureaus, including the Alpharetta CVB, Dunwoody CVB, Johns Creek CVB and Visit Sandy Springs came to show families how they can help with the big weekend. From helping secure hotel room blocks to hospitality bags for your guests, they offer many free services.
7. Divine Décor.
OMG. Gleaming Event Hall’s acrylic Mazel Tov wall made a big statement. As did Balloonacy’s and Balloons Over Atlanta’s creative balloon artistry, a safari adventure with Eventscapes, and Bold Design’s dreamy booth. Décor vendors dressed to impress!
8. Planner Paradise.
Party planners shared visions of sweet Mitzvah success! JDV Occasions , The Party Girl Events , and The Perfect Day! showcased how a Mitzvah comes together with thoughtful touches and delish surprises.
We also hosted organizations that link teens with Mitzvah projects, create Mitzvah-related Judaica (like Torah portion micrography and handmade tallit) and even clergy for those in need of bar mitzvah prep and service arrangements. Families could also shop invitations with Paper Matters and logo/website design with Mitzvah Memos. We aren’t kidding about planning the simcha in one afternoon!!!
