New construction in metro Atlanta means new venues for your Bar and Bat Mitzvah celebration plans! We checked out two exciting venues, with plenty of nearby attractions for your out-of-towners, now booking for Mitzvahs in 2018 and beyond:
The Omni is the luxury hotel adjacent to The Battery, where the Atlanta Braves play at SunTrust Park, nationally renowned artists perform at the Coca-Cola Roxy Theatre and dozens of shops and restaurants provide more entertainment.
With 264 guestrooms including 28 suites, this venue can accommodate all out-of-town guests. The décor appeals to all – sports fans and non-fans, with a contemporary architectural look and lots of touches of Americana in the décor. More than 20,000 square feet of meeting and event space includes rooftop hospitality suites, an elevated pool deck and bar with views into the Battery Atlanta, outdoor terraces that connect to pre-function space and elegant ballrooms.
Well-known Athens-based chef Hugh Acheson is overseeing the hotel’s restaurant concepts, and banquet menus will tie in culinary elements from the on-site restaurants and expand upon them. Catering selections are customized for each celebration, and Kosher menus are available.
What’s nearby? SunTrust Park, Coca-Cola Roxy Theatre, Cumberland Mall, iFly indoor skydiving, Cobb Energy Centre. Downtown is 10-15 minutes away.
When does it open? The hotel opens officially at the end of December. Tours are available now by appointment Mon.-Fri.
Part of the Marriott Autograph collection, this boutique hotel has 330 guestrooms and suites and 44,000 square feet of flexible event space, including three ballrooms, outdoor pool terrace, roof deck, a unique rotunda and more divisible spaces.
Families gathering for a weekend Mitzvah celebration can take advantage of The Hotel’s proximity to all that Avalon offers. This could include hosting private dining events at one of the restaurants, utilizing outdoor gathering spaces with swings and fire pits, and taking advantage of the weekly events schedule at Avalon, like live musical performances and children’s activities.
The Hotel’s relationships with retailers can be incorporated into the entire stay experience as well. Your event coordinator can arrange for discount cards at Avalon merchants or you can purchase special gift cards to go in your welcome bags (like a scoop of ice cream from Jeni’s) that guests can redeem when they’d like to.
The Hotel’s catering plans are customized to include special arrival displays and cocktail hour bites, midnight snacks and experiential food elements throughout the celebration. Signature mocktails or flavors of branded items that can be found at Avalon (like King of Pops popsicles) are developed with the theme in mind. Outside of the party, families can dine at the on site South City Kitchen or have a completely different experience for each meal of the weekend without having to drive anywhere, including the option of a concierge-arranged restaurant dine-around.
What’s nearby? The Avalon collection of shops, dining, entertainment and green spaces are walkable from the Hotel. Close to Verizon Amphitheatre and GA-400 with quick access to midtown/downtown.
When does it open? The hotel opens mid-January 2018. After December 15, families can tour the property with no hard hat required; call for available tour times. Pre-opening specials are available. And the biggest Atlanta Party Connection Bar & Bat Mitzvah EXPO ever will be held here on February 25, 2018!
